Back To Front

As someone who is woken up most morning by her youngest brother sometimes I'm too sleepy to choose my own outfit so I leave it to him to pick what I should wear... This often does result in a discussion about why I can't wear my year 11 prom dress just 'around and about' but he also does pick pretty good outfits. Today he picked a dress my mum made me last year and I rejected because I suppose I can be quite mardy. I do love this dress but I've discovered I love it much more backwards. I doubt this would work for most dresses but since this is a baby doll dress and quite over sized it works fine and I actually think the buttons look SUPER cute at the front and with my hair!

Paris Planning in my Fashionary

I got my Fashionary for Christmas last year and I had never heard of them but they are incredible! I don't think I quite saw the potential until I started using it but honestly I adore it. If I have anything special to plan outfits or clothes I want myself or my Mum to make I reach straight for my fashionary and start doodling. I do treat it like I would any sketch book and, possibly to your horror, I'm quite messy and scribbly and everywhere with my sketchbooks. I think trying to keep ideas and creativity clean and neat for me would just be ridiculous and I'd never get anything done, plus I think my Fashionary looks fabulous with the amount of clutter it has on each page!

I planned 6 outfits for my 7 days in Paris in here and plan to blog them all (no promises). I have since realised I should have used a double page for this but I didn't like the idea of leaving a page between ideas it just seemed silly! I wanted to plan my outfits for this trip because in what I hope to be such a beautiful place I can't quite bear the thought of blagging my outfits or packing even slightly, I think all these outfits will be weather appropriate and I'm just very excited to go! I'm not the most well traveled person but I do hope to be one day and I'm very much looking forward to ticking Paris off my list!

Vegan What I Ate Today | 3

9.15am Breakfast

For Breakfast today I had one of my most favourite toast toppings EVER! Avocado *insert heart eyes emoji here* I love avocado on toast possibly more than I love coffee which is a damn lot. Avocados though are usually rather pricey so when I spotted a large avocado at 39p in Lidl I made sure we added two to our trolley, granted I had to wait for a while for them to ripen it was well worth it! I didn't actually finish all of this as it was rather filling but it was the perfect start to my day.

1.30pm Lunch

I went to my boyfriends for the day to pack and organise ourselves for our trip to Paris so instead of creating more things to be doing whilst we were there I made us a packed lunch. I ate all the Pasta Salad and we shared the Pitta Bread and Houmous and it was great. I like to add smoked paprika to houmous and I ended up putting some in the salad. It was such a quick lunch, I definitely need to remember this when I'm back at Uni.

No Coffee Today :(

After sorting out things for PAris and running around we went to costa in the hope of a coffee but as the machine was broken I decide to try the Green Tea, Lime and Mint Cooler which I did not like... It was OK but far too sweet for me so I drank less than half which is rather rubbish and I don't feel like I should be including it but hey. On the way home we also bought some rosemary and garlic Kettle chips which I had a hand full of and they were good!

PEANUT BUTTER MOCHI

When I got home my Dad had been to Wing Yip in Manchester to get a few bits including a wok for me since I set fire to my last one and he had bought Peanut Butter Mochi which was incredible, I love mochi regardless but I was enchanted by the idea that it had peanut butter in it, it was heavenly!

8.20pm Dinner

For dinner we had white rice, noodles with bean sprouts, tempeh with onions and green pepper and chinese curry sauce and it was rather good. I didn't quite finish this plate but I did enjoy it although afterwards I definitely had another peanut butter mochi and some strawberries. I also later on had a tomato and basil panini but let's forget about that random midnight snack shall we... I was clearly quite hungry.

Rag Doll With A Hip Flask

Bardot Top - H&M / Skirt - Half of my Lindy Bop two piece / Shoes - Asos

I love having a two piece! I love the fact that I have an effortless full outfit without having to put any thought into it but I also love the fact you can have soooo many other outfits from the pieces! This post was my evening outfit, after wearing the crop top with Jeans all day and then staying over at my friends and wearing the full two piece the next day, It is the perfect way to pack lightly and I'm starting to think maybe I should have saved this outfit(s) for Paris next week....

What is your go-to way to packing lightly but looking great? I need any tips I can get!

Strawberry Blonde

So my hair is currently unintentionally strawberry blonde and I think I love it. People say that strawberry blondes are just gingers but I can assure you this is very different to being ginger, It's SO much lighter! My hair is naturally dirty blonde so I guess the faded ginger and peach (which I will add more off soon since it's pretty much completely gone) mixed with my natural hair colour has turned me into a strawberry blonde. I think I like this inbetween hair colour so much because I am constantly changing my mind on whether I want to have Ginger or Brown hair or just be my natural blonde, as well as being tempted to go an ashy blonde, So at the moment I have 2 in 1.

What are your thoughts on inbetween hair colours?

Never Complain, Never Explain.

Trousers - Pringles via Charity Shop / Top and Sunglasses - H&M / Boots - Dr Martens

'Never complain, never explain' because why should you. Katharine Hepburn was an incredible woman and, though I think I've only seen her in bringing up baby, someone I have very recently grown a great admiration for. I'm not so great with names or celebrity culture at all and I won't ever be but I do try to be sure that I take interest in particular lives, I often admire people simply for style but if there is a lot more to them than just appearances I am far more likely to remember and to admire them. If you aren't aware of Hepburn she was an American actress known for her independence, intelligence and, like Coco Chanel, for wearing trousers.

My Mum found these incredible Men's Pringles trousers in a local charity shop, Brand new with tags and suggested selling them on eBay shortly before saying 'Actually they'd look very Katharine Hepburn with a belt' and I couldn't let the idea go, and needed to know more about Katharine. I tried the trousers on and fell in love and am so excited to style them in Autumn/ Winter. They're timeless and I think will end up playing a very important part in my wardrobe for a very long time.

The Sunday Post | Happy Days

Dungarees and Headscarf - Monki/ Jumper - Primark / Backpack - M&S / Boots - Docs

Every year I forget how temperamental a British Summer is and it takes a while to get into the swing of knowing how to dress for summer but possibly also spring/ autumn, so when my mum handed me this Primark jumper the other day because she didn't want it anymore I knew what I had to do. I had to wear it with my Monki dungarees. Now on a summers day a jumper is not the best idea, this I learnt but as the day went on and it became the evening I was glad to be wearing a jumper and I love the collar, it's just so damn cute peeking out from my dungarees.

I wore this outfit on Monday just on a little shopping and coffee trip with some friends and I honestly had an amazing day. It made me realise that despite not living in the most fun town ever I really can have A LOT of fun here or anywhere as long as I have good company. In general I'm a very positive person and I will call an 'ok' day great but I was genuinely very very happy, could've been the sun making an appearance, my coffee or just spending time with my friends but whatever it was has just really improved my mood overall. Let's all hope the week ahead is super happy and positive.

July Favourites | STROBING

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I've ever done a 'favourites' blog post but it's something I'd really like to start doing. I love reading them and watching them on youtube for 'life inspiration' almost, I'm not so much into the beauty ones but I'm always looking for something new to read or watch or incorporate into my wardrobe so knowing someone LOVES something is always an incentive.

I think there's only one way I can do this post so here is a list of a few of my favourite things over the month of July!

TREND: My favourite fad of July has definitely been strobing.

Now I'm sure most of you will know exactly what this is but just in case you don't, to my knowledge, strobing is essentially instead of contouring, you wear a lot of highlighter on the appropriate parts of your face and look all glowy and beautiful.

The 60s Called...

They'd like Nancy Drew's wardrobe back! If you've known me a while you probably know that not only do I adore the 60s but that Nancy Drew is one of my favourite characters of all time. This outfit possibly isn't quite as smart as I picture Nancy Drew to be but it is definitely what a typical children's adventure character would wear and I just love it. I was quite a fussy reader when I was little and adventure or mystery stories (along with fairy books) were the only ones I could bear to read!
