The Black Dot

For a few years now I have been semi-obsessed with having my nails painted at all times, for quite frankly ridiculous reasons that I shan't go into now but because of this combined with a busy life my nails are often painted but chipped and not very neat. So, I thought to combat this, whilst hopefully taking better care of my nails I would buy BarryM's mani mask in the shade birthday suit which is a semi matte beige nude which I love, whilst also being good for your nails. I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't chip but when and if it does, as it's nude it's hardly noticeable and my hands still look presentable, it is definitely my new go to nail colour.

To jazz up this nude for my birthday and just because I'd seen it somewhere before I wanted to add a black dot (with my flatmate Laura's dotting tool, Thanks Laura!) to each nail and I love it so much. I don't know why I think this is so pretty, I think I just like the fact my nails look healthy and interesting and sort of effortless, whereas with block colours I feel like my nails just always look a bit rubbish.

I also feel like having such plain nails, though they are painted, will help me to get to a place where I am comfortable to have not painted my nails at all.
